Job description
Manage all marketing functions and budget at the Benelux; focusing especially on PR & Media, Sponsorship (Team & Events), E-Marketing and In-Store. Work closely with the Marketing manager or Country Manager to ensure that Benelux marketing initiatives are both locally relevant and globally consistent.
GENERAL
* Significantly improve brands image and awareness, increasing coverage, upgrading quality perception and reflecting brands positioning and differentiation from competitors.
* Identify, determine, execute and implement marketing strategies, plans and tools in the most relevant way for the Benelux market while ensuring consistency with global visions, messages and objectives.
* Drive brand development and sales growth in accordance with global marketing & sales strategy as well as Benelux business plan.
* Analyze results and provide fully comprehensive reports of Marketing activities in Benelux.
BUDGET
* Work closely with the Marketing Manager to maximize marketing budget and grow brand presence & sales in Benelux.
* Develop annual budget proposals and expenditure allocation plans; in accordance with marketing strategy and allocated budget.
* Regularly analyze and review allocation of marketing budget to ensure results are achieved efficiently.
* Monitor and report budget on a monthly basis, and be positioned to readily identify spent, committed and planned status at all times.
* Maximise every single investment towards the brands objectives.
SPONSORSHIP
* Ensure thorough planning, implementation and monitoring of Sponsorship marketing activities in Benelux.
* Implement Sponsorship marketing assets/concepts provided by Central Marketing team.
* If required, adapt EMEA Sponsorship marketing materials to Benelux needs – in close collaboration with and under approval of Marketing Manager EMEA – and implement them accordingly.
* Coordinate sponsorship projects with Sales team, key customers and external partners.
* Identify and support athlete teams for each category (Skate, Snow, Surf, BMX…).
* Manage all aspects of the brands Benelux events and special projects; conceptual creation, logistical processes, legal implications, third party partnerships, implementation and follow up.
* Ensure efficient grassroots marketing for the brands Benelux through close collaboration with Marketing Manager.
* Work closely with Marketing manager EMEA to make sure that market needs are fulfilled and further improve Sponsorship marketing tools based on market feedback.
IN-STORE
* Ensure thorough planning, implementation and monitoring of Retail & Trade marketing activities in Benelux.
* Implement existing In-Store marketing assets (POP, VM, SIS & Partnership concepts) provided by Central Marketing team..
* If required, adapt EMEA In-Store marketing materials to Benelux needs – in close collaboration with and under approval of Marketing Manager and Retail & Trade marketing Manager EMEA – and implement them accordingly.
* Coordinate in-store projects with Sales team, key customers and external partners.
* Work closely with Marketing manager EMEA to make sure that market needs are fulfilled and further improve Retail & Trade marketing tools based on market feedback.
PR & MEDIA
* Ensure thorough planning, implementation and monitoring of PR & Media marketing activities in Benelux.
* Implement existing PR & Media marketing assets/concepts provided by Central Marketing team.
* If required, adapt EMEA PR & Media marketing materials to Benelux needs – in close collaboration with and under approval of Marketing Manager and PR & Media Manager EMEA – and implement them accordingly.
* Coordinate local PR & Media projects with Sales team, key customers and external partners.
* Work closely with Marketing manager EMEA to make sure that market needs are fulfilled and further improve PR & Media tools based on market feedback.
INTERACTIVE MARKETING
* Ensure thorough planning, implementation and monitoring of Interactive marketing activities in Benelux.
* Implement existing Interactive marketing assets/concepts provided by Central Marketing team.
* If required, adapt EMEA Interactive marketing materials for Benelux needs – in close collaboration with and under approval of Marketing Manager and Interactive Marketing Manager EMEA – and implement them accordingly.
* Coordinate local Interactive projects with Sales team, key customers and external partners.
* Manage local sections of Vans Benelux website.
* Work closely with Marketing manager EMEA to make sure that market needs are fulfilled and further improve Interactive marketing tools based on market feedback.
Profile
* Marketing Degree; Bachelor or Master level
* Some Marketing management experience
* Deep understanding of the brand as well as the action sports and lifestyle industries
* Analytical Skills: Thinking critically, logically and constructively about significant problems. Examining questions from a broad standpoint – not just from one angle.
* Language skills: Fluent in English and Dutch (both written and spoken). Notions of other European languages would be a plus.
* Excellent writing skills.
* Experience in working in multicultural teams.
* Willing to travel frequently.
* Enthusiastic, pro-active person who can handle stress and take initiatives.
* Excellent ability to work with tight deadlines and deliver on budget.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills.
